Lets Be Honest...Is Tyrod Taylor Really Sitting Out For A Season?

Photobucket

So...needless to say..I am pissed that Tyrod Taylor is sitting this season out. Or is he? Taylor came in desperate times last season in the middle of a LSU blowout(Second game of the season.) As and 18 year old, he managed to score Tech's only touchdown of the game. From there he continued to grown into the promising quarterback we all expected, losing no games that he started in 2007. Against Duke, Taylor was hurt. Glennon came in to save the day against a "formidale" Duke team.(Lets be serious). Sean Glennon lost all but three games that he started last season. My question is, "Why would you let a growing QB take a season off because of the worst QB who ever played DI football?" If you forgot, Glennon threw an interception on the first play of scrimmange last season! He lost the Chic-Fila Bowl for us in 2006, throwing interceptions in the fourth quarter causing us to lose. And to be final, he is the worst QB Tech has seen since the 80's! I cannot sit and watch an entire season of Glennon throwing picks and being sacked for fumbles because of his lack of awareness.
However, I did go and watch the spring game. Lets be honest here...Tech looked like crap. I know a spring game is not the full picture of what you'll have in the fall, but goodness. We had no reliable receivers but "the drunk" Ike Whitaker, the running backs were slow, and if I forgot to mention, Glennon is a bum! What made my whole trip worse was finding out that our defensive stud Victor "Macho" Harris is the best offensive threat on the team!
Frank Beamer sometimes confuses me. Is it me or does he not realize that Glennon=Destruction? Or maybe he realizes that his team will suck so bad this year that he won't waste Tyrod's very valuable year on this? Should we waste Glennon's terrible career and final season on this terrible team? Or let them be better and grow simutameously with the growing and very promising career of Hampton Road's own Tyrod Taylor?

Ocho Cinco Show: A Primetime Event or Not Even Worth The Drama

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls Its the time that you all have been waiting for. Standing @ Six feet One inches weighing a whopping One hundred Ninety-Two pounds of pure solid perfection from Los Angeles, CA from Oregon State University in his Eighth season of demolishing the league and every corner and safety opposing him. I give you Chad Johnson but you know and love him as Future Hall of Famer OCHO CINCO!!!!!!!!" Clearly in Chad Johnson's mind this is how he apporaches the game and every opponent. T.O, Reggie Wayne, Braylon Edwards, Randy Moss, are all great receivers that beast in the game but none of them compare to Chad Johnson its as if he plays in a league of his own. Some believe that his attitude towards the game of football is very disrespectful to the pioneer that paved the way for him but really is a celebration that disrespectful. i would say that Joe "Hollywood" Namath being drunk in a interview would be more distracting and disrespectful than Ocho Cinco wearing a Hall of Fame jacket on the sideline. In actuality the whole purpose of football is to win and the whole purpose of television football is to entertain the viewers and a football game will only satisfy true football fans. Now, what about the people that do not really watch football they just happen to be in a room with their lover they need to be entertain too, that's where the celebrations and commericals come into play. now, a player of Johnson caliber who averages 15.7 yards a catch and 1,250 plus yards along with 9 touchdowns a season its naturally he would be a in dancing mood.

In my opinion, I believe he is well worth the drama. i mean if this man is the main reason that his franchise is even on anyone's radar he deserves some freedom to express himself in anyway he want. At the end of the day, the Cincinnati Bengals organization is making a lot more money off him and his antics than they are paying him. Not to mention, he is lead them to eight great seasons , while they did not end in success the fans base is steadily raising. So in closing , when the distractions that he cause can not be compared to the success he brings to his organization.

Jerryd Bayless: Great Role Player or Rookie of the Year

As a GM, you always look for that one missing piece to a championship puzzle. On June 28, it can be said that Kevin Pritchard and Nate McMillian did just that in the trade Indiana Reportedly traded with Ike Diogu to the Blazers for Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts and the rights to Brandon Rush and along with that came that missing piece of Jerryd Bayless. Bayless an six three two hundred pound Virgo definitely lets his sign define his game because he is eager for action and is driven by a desire, a desire to win. This 19 year old kid is demolishing the Vegas summer league average almost 30 plus points a game. He also even earned his way to the u.s select team, a team that scrimmages our country's best basketball players.

Now how he will produce in the season is another story but, in my opinion i believe that this guy has the potential and talent to be the rookie of the year. He is apart of a solid young Portland Trailblazers team that has great chemistry and awesome talent. Clearly Jerryd Bayless and 2007 Number 1 draft pick Greg Oden will be great additions to a solid, well-coached team. Whether he is a great role player or rookie of the year he will be a key contribution to the portland trailblazers. He has so many MVP like attributes; the speed of Chris Paul , the first step and intensity of Allen Iverson, the heart and passion of Kevin Garnett, and scoring ability Chancey Billups, its the perfect mixture for a great player. Now you may say i am doing some wishful thinking but lets be honest, every rookie that has control the summer league has gone on to be great players and possibly rookie of the year. So when its time to pass out the end of the season awards don't be surprise to see Jerryd Bayless in the running for rookie of the year.
